STEADFAST IN SERVICE: BUILDING A MISSION-READY FORCE

A capable military depends on a steady pipeline of well-trained personnel who are prepared to protect national assets and respond to emerging security challenges with professionalism and discipline. Continuous investment in training not only strengthens operational readiness but also ensures the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) remains equipped to safeguard strategic installations while adapting to an increasingly dynamic security environment.

The Kenya Defence Forces marked another milestone in this effort with the graduation of a new cohort of Defence Forces Constabulary (DFC) personnel during a Pass Out Parade at the School of Infantry in Isiolo County. The ceremony, presided over by the Commander Kenya Army, Lieutenant General David Ketter, saw Kenya Defence Forces and National Youth Service personnel successfully complete six months of specialized training before their deployment to secure key military installations across the country.

Addressing the graduands, Lieutenant General Ketter challenged them to uphold the values that define the Kenya Defence Forces, urging them to remain disciplined, professional, patriotic and loyal in the execution of their duties. He reminded the newly trained personnel that the responsibility entrusted to them extends beyond protecting military infrastructure to preserving the confidence that Kenyans place in their armed forces.

The Commander Kenya Army emphasized that operational effectiveness is anchored on unwavering commitment to duty, integrity and adherence to military standards. He encouraged the graduands to apply the knowledge and skills acquired during training with vigilance, resilience and a strong sense of purpose as they assume their new responsibilities.

The parade also celebrated excellence by recognizing outstanding performers in character, drill and marksmanship, highlighting the Kenya Defence Forces’ enduring culture of merit, professionalism and high performance. The awards reflected the rigorous standards expected of every service member and reinforced the importance of individual excellence in achieving collective mission success.

Attended by senior military officers, service members, families and invited guests, the ceremony demonstrated the Kenya Defence Forces’ sustained investment in developing a highly trained, disciplined and mission-ready force capable of protecting critical national defence assets while advancing the security of the nation.
