STRENGTHENING COMMUNITY RELATIONS

STRENGTHENING COMMUNITY RELATIONS

Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) troops stationed in Mandera County, conducted a Civil–Military Cooperation (CIMIC) outreach aimed at strengthening relations with the local community and addressing pressing humanitarian needs in the area.

The outreach was carried out at Omar Jillow and Harer Hosle Trading Centres, bringing together residents from both centres in an atmosphere of cooperation and mutual engagement.

During the event, KDF medical personnel provided free medical consultations, treatment, and referral services to community members. The initiative also included the distribution of foodstuffs to vulnerable households to alleviate the effects of the prolonged drought affecting the region. Additionally, Holy Qurans and writing materials were donated to youths and children in preparation for the upcoming Sub-County Madarasa Competition, supporting both religious education and youth development.

The outreach concluded with a friendly football match between the KDF team and Harer Hosle Napoli Football Club. The match attracted a large crowd and provided a platform for promoting unity, teamwork, and positive interaction between the troops and local youth.

The community expressed appreciation to the KDF for their continued support and humanitarian assistance, noting that the outreach had positively impacted their welfare and strengthened mutual trust. Residents further pledged to cooperate with security agencies in maintaining peace and stability within the area.
