Discipline, precision and resilience took centre stage in Eldoret over the weekend as some of Kenya’s finest taekwondo athletes battled for honours at the Eldocity Taekwondo League Championship.
Amid fierce competition from clubs and institutions across the country, the Kenya Defence Forces’ Ulinzi Taekwondo Team once again proved why it remains one of the nation’s dominant forces in the martial arts.
The two-day championship, held from 18 to 19 July 2026, attracted 20 teams from different parts of Kenya, making it one of the most competitive events on the national taekwondo calendar.
From the opening bouts, Ulinzi athletes stamped their authority on the competition, combining tactical awareness, technical precision and physical endurance to outclass their opponents across multiple weight categories. Their consistency on the mats saw them collect victories in both the men’s and women’s divisions.
By the close of the tournament, Ulinzi had secured the overall team title after amassing an impressive 15 medals; six gold, six silver and three bronze. The performance crowned the military side as champions in both the men’s and ladies’ categories, capping a successful outing for the team.
The victory reflected months of disciplined training and preparation, with athletes demonstrating the composure and teamwork that have become synonymous with military sport.
As the national taekwondo season gathers momentum, the Eldocity triumph adds another milestone to Ulinzi’s growing record of success and strengthens the team’s confidence ahead of upcoming local and international competitions.
