JCSC CONDUCTS NIC VISITS IN MOMBASA REGION

The participants of the Senior Joint Command and Staff Course (SJCSC 41-2025/26), together with the leadership and faculty of the Joint Command and Staff College (JCSC), undertook a series of National Industrial Capacity (NIC) visits across key organizations in the Mombasa region on 9 March 2026. The delegation was led by Major General Eric Kinuthia (Commandant JCSC), accompanied by Brigadier David Chesire (Deputy Commandant and Chief Instructor), Heads of Departments, faculty and course participants.

The delegation was divided into five teams, which visited Associated Vehicle Assemblers (AVA), Bamburi Cement Limited – Mombasa Plant, Bulkstream Limited, Kenya Maritime Authority (KMA) and Kenya Ports Authority (KPA).

These strategic visits were designed to provide participants with firsthand familiarity with the industrial capabilities of leading firms in the region and to explore their critical linkages to national defence and security imperatives. The overarching theme guiding the engagements was “Opportunities for Regional Security through National Industrial Development and Technological Innovations.” The visits are part of the course curriculum and underscore the College’s commitment to understanding the integration of national industrial strengths into broader security and strategic planning frameworks.
