JOINT COMMAND AND STAFF COLLEGE (JCSC) VISITS 6 BRIGADE HEADQUARTERS

On Thursday, 16 October 2025, the leadership, Directing Staff, and students of the Senior Joint Command and Staff Course (SJCSC 41-2025/26) conducted a field set up visit of the 6 Brigade Headquarters at Embakasi Garrison. The JCSC delegation, headed by the Deputy Commandant and Chief Instructor Brigadier David Chesire, was warmly received by Colonel Gilbert Kinanga, the Deputy Brigade Commander.
The purpose of the visit was to acquaint course participants with the structure, organization, and operational roles of an infantry brigade headquarters in a field setting. Participants received a detailed briefing and a guided tour of the various components of the infantry brigade, gaining insight into their functions and roles in achieving operational objectives.

In his address, Brigadier Chesire emphasized the value of this practical engagement in reinforcing the theoretical knowledge acquired at the College. He expressed gratitude to 6 Brigade leadership and staff for their hospitality and commitment, highlighting the ongoing collaboration in training between the JCSC and the Brigade.

This visit forms an integral part of the comprehensive curriculum designed to prepare course participants for their future roles as senior commanders and staff officers within the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) and allied nations’ militaries.
