Professional military education and the continuous exchange of knowledge remain essential in strengthening defence capabilities, enhancing operational effectiveness and fostering regional cooperation. Through strategic engagements with partner militaries, the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) continues to promote the sharing of best practices and experiences that contribute to resilient logistics systems and mission readiness in addressing evolving security challenges.
In line with this commitment, the Kenya Defence Forces on 20 July 2026 hosted a delegation comprising senior officers and participants of the Nigerian Army College of Logistics and Management (NACOLM) Course 4–2026 on a study tour in Nairobi.
The delegation, led by the Commandant NACOLM, Major General Collins Adetoba, paid a courtesy call to the Vice Chief of the Defence Forces (VCDF), Lieutenant General John Omenda, at The Defence Headquarters. Discussions focused on areas of mutual interest and opportunities to further strengthen defence cooperation between the Kenya Defence Forces and the Nigerian Armed Forces.
Also speaking during the engagement, the Chief of Training Development Establishment and Equipment Tables (TDE & ETs), Kenya Army Defence Headquarters, Brigadier Paul Koech underscored the need for resilient and self-reliant logistics systems capable of supporting modern military operations despite evolving security challenges. He encouraged participants to leverage the engagement to exchange ideas that will enhance operational readiness and strengthen regional defence cooperation.
Major General Collins Adetoba noted that the study tour forms part of NACOLM’s geostrategic engagement programme aimed at exposing participants to best practices in military logistics across Africa. He emphasised that collaboration and knowledge sharing among African armed forces are essential in building resilient supply chains and enhancing operational effectiveness.
The tour reaffirmed the enduring defence ties between the Kenya Defence Forces and the Nigerian Armed Forces while underscoring the importance of continued collaboration in building resilient, interoperable and mission-ready forces capable of addressing emerging security challenges.
