Mothers play a vital role in our families. They nurture, discipline, and instil values in children. Their unending sacrifices towards keeping the household in order is evident through their deeds.
In the military fraternity, the mothers provide emotional stability, moral guidance and spiritual support to the families amidst the challenges associated with military service. Additionally, mothers contribute to the overall welfare and unity of the military fraternity.
Recently, mothers from different formations and units of the Military Ordinariate of Kenya (MOK) gathered together to celebrate the annual diocesan Catholic Women Apostolate (CWA) at St Peter and Paul Defence Headquarters Cathedral in Nairobi.
The bishop of the Military Ordinariate of Kenya, Rt. Rev. Wallace Ng’ang’a presided over the event which began with the celebration of the Holy Mass. In his sermon, Rt Rev Ng’ang’a underscored that mothers form the pillars of the home; in terms of instilling good values towards their children, being good role models and offering spiritual mentorship to their children.
Further, he encouraged mothers to be affirmative both within themselves and with their families. This he stated will go a long way towards shaping their households in the right direction.
