KDF COMMITMENT TO NATIONAL INFRASTRUCTURE

The Horn of Africa Gateway Development Project (HoAGDP) remains a flagship national infrastructure initiative, combining progress in connectivity with strengthened regional stability. To ascertain its progress and reinforce the Kenya Defence Forces’ (KDF) commitment to supporting national development, the General Officer Commanding Eastern Command (GOC EASTCOM), Major General Luka Kutto, conducted a visit to the project area. He was received by the Second Infantry Brigade Commander, Brigadier Daniel Rotich.

During the visit, Major General Kutto held a meeting with project stakeholders, where he received detailed briefings on the milestones achieved and the ongoing works. In his remarks, he lauded the good work accomplished by the contractors and stakeholders, commending their dedication to advancing the project despite prevailing challenges. He urged them to work around the clock to meet the project’s timelines, emphasizing that timely delivery of such infrastructure is critical to unlocking economic opportunities and enhancing regional integration.

He further underscored the importance of operational readiness and effectiveness in safeguarding the project. His message reinforced the principle that security and development are inseparable, with KDF playing a central role in enabling national projects to succeed.

The visit reaffirmed KDF’s unwavering commitment to supporting national development infrastructure. By combining security operations with direct engagement of stakeholders, the Kenya Defence Forces continue to demonstrate that safeguarding flagship projects like HoAGDP is not only a matter of national security but also a cornerstone of economic growth and community resilience.
