Effective military education demands instructors who can inspire critical thinking, stimulate meaningful participation and translate knowledge into professional competence. In pursuit of this objective, the Joint Command and Staff College (JCSC) successfully completed a four-day Defence Instructional Techniques Course, held from 31 August to 3 September 2026.
The course brought together Directing Staff from both the Senior and Junior Divisions and was facilitated by seasoned instructors from the Defence Forces School of Education and Languages (DEFSEL).
The Deputy Commandant/Chief Instructor, Brigadier Seif S Rashid, graced both the opening and closing ceremonies, accompanied by the Colonel Head of Teaching Team, Colonel Trevor Ogutu.
Speaking during the closing ceremony on behalf of the Commandant, Brigadier Rashid congratulated participants for successfully completing the course and commended the facilitators for their dedication and expertise.
He underscored the centrality of continuous professional development to the effective execution of the College’s mandate and urged participants to apply the acquired knowledge and skills to enrich teaching and learning at JCSC.
The successful completion of the course reaffirms the College’s commitment to instructional excellence, continuous learning and professional development.
