DOCA HOSTS STRATEGIC ENGAGEMENT ON OVERSIGHT AND ACCOUNTABILITY

The Director of the Directorate of Oversight, Compliance and Accountability (DOCA), Major General Mohamed Iddi, on 08 October 2025, led a sensitization engagement at Defence Headquarters (DHQ), focusing on enhancing coordination and governance among Defence-controlled units and branches.

The session, brought together senior commanders and administrators from various units and branches to deliberate on the integration of oversight, audit, and compliance frameworks within command structures. It also highlighted the importance of accountability in reinforcing operational efficiency and institutional integrity.

Speaking during the engagement, Major General Iddi underscored DOCA’s mission to uphold ethical conduct and ensure the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) remain a benchmark of professionalism and transparency.

“Accountability is a shared responsibility. Through continuous engagement and oversight, we strengthen not only compliance but also public trust in the Defence Forces,” he said.

Additionally, Major General Iddi emphasized strengthening linkages between operational commands and oversight organs to ensure seamless implementation of Defence policies and adherence to legal and ethical standards.

The engagement reflects Kenya Defence Forces ongoing efforts to institutionalize integrity and accountability as key enablers of effective command, control, and service delivery within the Defence Forces.

Also, in attendance were Chief of Audit, Brigadier Elijah Gatere, Chief of Logistics Defence Headquarters, Brigadier Omar Mohamed and other senior officers.
