KENYA MEAT COMMISSION BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS CONVENE IN MOMBASA 

On 30 October 2025, the Kenya Meat Commission (KMC) Board of Commissioners, chaired by Lieutenant General (Rtd) Joseph Kasaon, held a meeting at the Kibarani KMC boardroom in Mombasa County.

During the session, Lt Gen (Rtd) Kasaon reaffirmed the board’s shared commitment to revitalizing and strengthening KMC’s operations.

The meeting was preceded by the delegation’s inspection of the commissions ranch at Mackinnon Road, Kibarani Abattoir, Makupa Nyama Haven and Shimanzi godown, where they discussed future improvements and development of the facilities.

During the visit to the Kibarani factory, Colonel Wilberforce Murimi, the Branch Manager, briefed the commissioners on the factory’s organizational structure, operational framework and future development plans. The commissioners were taken on a guided tour of the factory’s production units, meat processing, packaging and quality control lines.

While addressing KMC staff members, the Managing Commissioner Major General Jattani Gula emphasized on the need for commitment, upholding high standards of hygiene, efficiency and ensuring product quality, noting that consistent excellence is vital for sustained competitiveness in both domestic and export markets.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the outgoing KMC Board of Commissioners chairman, Lt Gen (Rtd) Kasaon, was awarded in recognition of his steadfast leadership and dedicated service.
