IMCTC CONCLUDES FIVE -DAY COUNTER -TERORRISM FINANCING TRAINING

The Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition (IMCTC) has successfully concluded its advanced five-day training programme on counter-terrorism financing at a hotel in Nairobi, marking a significant milestone in strengthening regional security cooperation. The programme, which ran from 1st to 5th December 2025, brought together military and security professionals from member states to enhance collective efforts in combating terrorism and its financial networks at an advanced operational level.

The intensive advanced training featured expert led sessions, practical workshops, and scenario based exercises focused on the identification and disruption of terrorism financing networks, strengthening advanced counter-intelligence frameworks, and enhancing inter-agency and cross-border cooperation. Participants also engaged in high level discussions on emerging threats and sophisticated response mechanisms used in modern counter terrorism operations.

Speaking at the closing ceremony, the Chief Guest,Deputy Army Commander, Major General Mohamed Nur Hassan, commended the participants for their commitment, discipline, and high level of professionalism throughout the advanced course. He noted that the successful completion of the programme reflects the shared determination of member states to confront terrorism through unified strategies and strong intelligence cooperation.

Major General Hassan reaffirmed the importance of advanced capacity building programmes, stating that highly trained personnel are the backbone of effective counter-terrorism operations. He emphasized that the specialised knowledge and skills gained during the training will play a vital role in safeguarding national and regional stability.

At the conclusion of the programme, certificates were formally awarded to all participants in recognition of their successful completion of the advanced training. The certification marked their enhanced readiness and competence in addressing terrorism financing and related complex security threats.
